ExploreLearning is honored to announce that Gizmos STEM Cases and Frax were selected as finalists for the Educators Pick Best of STEM® 2024 Awards.
Finalist Categories
- Gizmos STEM Cases: Trailblazer: Phenomena-Based Teaching and Learning
- Frax: Bridging the Gap: Math Intervention Resources
The Teich Group and Catapult X announced finalists on August 7, 2024. The Best of STEM Awards spotlight innovative products, technologies, and services that are changing the world of STEM education. Educator judges evaluated all product entries and selected the finalists. Hundreds of thousands of STEM educators will have the opportunity to select the winners, who will be announced on August 28, 2024.
“The Educators Pick Best of STEM Awards continue to grow each year as more companies compete with innovative products,” said lead judge Annie Galvin Teich, President of The Teich Group. “This year, we saw an uptick in AI-related products, of course, but many products are using other best-of-class technologies that meaningfully engage students in the classroom.”
These finalist recognitions underscore ExploreLearning’s commitment to innovative, engaging, and content-aligned solutions.
- Gizmos STEM Cases allow students to step into the role of STEM professionals to solve real-life problems—just like real scientists. Students work to collect, analyze, and interpret data, test hypotheses, and communicate their findings. Learners stay engaged as they solve problems and take risks to test the best possible outcomes. New teacher survey data found that STEM Cases enhanced hands-on teaching and increased students’ conceptual understanding of difficult concepts.
- Adaptive and game-based, Frax uses the latest research and instructional methods to create a better way to learn fractions. Supported by brief, just-in-time instruction, students learn and progress at their own pace as technology responds to individual performance to provide the right amount of support and challenge. Students using Frax met or exceeded growth benchmarks at significantly higher rates, achieved a higher percentage of expected growth, and were more likely to reach or exceed grade-level proficiency in the spring, regardless of fall achievement levels.
